WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR VISIT
Guiding You On the Path of Self-Healing
About Psychotherapy
Perhaps you're feeling down or anxious - maybe you're unsure about the future of a relationship, or just feel that you aren't living the life you were meant to lead. Whatever your needs may be, I am here to offer support. Therapy is a process of growth and self-discovery, and in my sessions I promote behavioral transformation by encouraging an adoption of new attitudes and reactions. I have the tools and professional experience to help you get back on track.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality is a central pillar of psychotherapy and vital to the therapeutic process. Confidentiality is both an ethical standard and a legal mandate for psychotherapists. Except for a number of specific situations - which I explain to all my patients - psychotherapists are required by law to keep psychotherapy confidential.
Treatment and Sessions
Although it is impossible to predict with precision how long someone will be in psychotherapy, it is possible for the patient(s) and therapist to discuss regularly how the therapy is going, and what frequency of sessions is best.
Standard sessions are 50 minutes in length.

COUPLES THERAPY
Most couples experience challenges at some point in their relationship. As a Gottaman Level II trained therapist, I will help you to obtain the skills to address issues head-on. Through participating in couples therapy you can obtain a more loving and fulfilling relationship
INDIVIDUAL THERAPY WITH ADOLESCENTS
Pre-adolescence and adolescence are arguably the most tumultuous, stressful times in a child’s life. Emotions are also more in flux and intensified, and can feel unpredictable and confusing. I can help the tween/teen to not feel so alone, feel understood, let go of worries and not let anxiety or depression bully them around. I can help them connect to what matters to them most, find their voice and direction, and live a life with purpose based on their value-driven choices,

NO SURPRISES ACT
No Surprises Act Notice
The Federal No Surprises Act went into effect on January 1, 2022 to protect patients from surprise medical bills. As a result, all licensed health providers who offer out of network services are required to post a notice of “your rights and protections against surprise medical bills” on our websites or in our physical offices.
You may know that many people have been harmed by surprise medical bills, often incurred during emergency or surgical care where there may be out of network providers involved in a patient’s care without their knowledge. It is unlikely this could occur when receiving services from Aiiesha Brown, MS LMFT as there should be no situation in which you would “inadvertently” receive care from her, OR receive care with no choice.
The he nature of mental health services are different and I do not engage in surprise or balance billing. Rest assured, you can always ask us about any costs about which you may be unsure, and you will be provided clear, accurate information. Additional information regarding the No Surprises Act can be found at : https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises/policies-and-resources/overview-of-rules-fact-sheets
